Ok, I still need to add a bar graph. So what's the simplest way to do this? Even if I had to re-do what I did in T-SQL...

I just realized the bar graph being asked for might not be very meaningful anyhow, so I'm not sure if I need this after all, lol... but I'll keep ya...

Started reading the SSRS stairway articles- guess I would go through BIDS or have to download report builder- but not sure if I want to go that route or not......

Haven't used SSRS yet- I can't find it anywhere in our start menu- does that mean we don't have it installed? Where should it be found?

It turns out in our case that we don't even need that particular Sql server anymore, so I just disabled the service & set it to manual startup- our problem...

Understandable. So is there a way to tell SQL Server to close the file handles after it's done validating all the databases, until someone actually logs in?

Look up the syntax for PIVOT BY. But if those are your only two columns, it might not work directly- you may have to add a constant-valued column.

Thanks for the reply- you're right, it was a file permissions issue with the actual database data file that the odbc was using. I didn't know which windows user...
