I see a lot of waits of the type MEMORY_ALLOCATION_EXT when running DBCC CHECKDB (the lite version, NOINDEX and WITH PHYSICAL_ONLY) on the new database server.
I've tested this VM...

Unfortunately, it has not been fixed... I don't have the global view, but I guess that this issue has not been fixed AT ALL.
I manage about 100 SQL Server instances...

Please pay attention: this stored procedure, xp_readerrorlog, can hang and you cannot kill it's process from SQL.
I am experimenting now with sp_readerrorlog.

I have exactly the same issue with a large database (about 1000 GB with about 500 GB free space) in SQL Server 2005 Enterprise SP3.

Yes, I have tried this.
The copy size is about 80 MB, even with an (empty) ntext column. So, this is a work-around (copy, drop original, rename copy). Thank you!

I have the same eeh... problem. This counter is extremely high for some databases on some servers, even never used replication.
