I came up with this solution:

I renamed the original ThemeCategories table to ThemeCategoryInfo and the bridge table to ThemeCategories...

And BTW, it isn't impossible to change the names later on....

I'll settle for bigint. It's a shame that there aren't unsigned integer data types in sql. They would be really handy.

But in my case I don't think I'll need any clustered indexes (except the PK). And doesn't having to JOIN the two tables also cause a cut in performance?
