more like sloppy development work have also found cases where they had duplicate unique indexes on same field in same table. Caught this thanks to Ozar's blitzindex.

that is kind of the issue, dependent on SAN people so don't want to make mad, however, would like to see after Exchange migration is done

yeah idera does show wait stats spiking, of course also doing a exchange migration, just trying to see if relationship between blocking and drive issue

it's about 50-50, interesting that when working with Sharepoint Consultants the push is for physical not virtual.

i would be looking at sp_blitzcache or Pinal Dave's query which shows what is chewing up your cache. Look at the statements it is returning and check their query...
