but how in the real world do you want to handle absences on a Friday and again on a Monday - are they consecutive?

It's a bit cumbersome but I also seen a view along the lines of:-

SELECT

Field1 + ',' +

Field2 + ',' +

Field3 + ',' +

...

Fieldn AS TheOutput

FROM table

Then bcp the view...
