May be you can try updating stats on all the 8 base tables. Also check fragmentation on all the 8 tables. Verify the MAXDOP settings on both the machines.

yeah I see what you are saying. Yeah, I don't think there is a way without dropping the replication. you ve to drop and recreate it.

So you are replacing both Distributor and subscriber keeping the publisher same ?What is the problem in creating a new publication ?

I m not using any vertical filtering. The final goal is to transfer all the data including identity column. I never had this issue in transactional replication.
