but compression requires enterprise version of sql server, right ?

if we drop server what happens to any existing user databases ? i assume they re-appear automatically after rename.

am not sure adding indexes on FKs. i read somewhere if your child table contains lot of unique records then there is no point of creating index as index size...

for desktop search i use Copernic .i've been using it for last 1 year and its great. worth a try.
