open excel, then data, external data, from other sources...choose sql server
and you can select your table or write your query there..
it will put results directly into excel file.

You can put all the records in the sql server table first, and then select your top 100 or watever resultset you require.

Why dont you write hte query directly in excel and then get results directly from excel itself.

The transaction log is full..
You have to shrink the transaction log before attempting to again re run the job.
