Regarding the Table Corrupt error:
The Object ID exists in multiple databases for different objects, so the Table Corrupt error tells me nothing. What is the 1:2537049 numbers?

I saw the nocount option in the EM using the steps in your third post.
I also ran sp_configure, but again the nocount does not "stick".
