It could be because your sql brower is not running. Check it and start if it is not running.

IF it is a full database backup ..then why bother about restoring a logfile.

By all means you can just restore the .bak file(it has to be full database backup)

You could tried registering dts.dll

here is what u need to do Just copy this and run it

regsvr32 "\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn\DTS.dll"

Check wehter u have installed SSIS(Integration Services) and it is running If not try install it.

Let me know wether it is 64bit or 32 bit

I restart sql server agent frm services.msc as well as sql server configuration manager.It doesn't work.

But i am able to send testmail.

WE reverted back to port 1433 and asked them to modify in their application .

It is fine now.

Since it is in Mixed mode authentication... that wouldn't help bcoz they are no sql logins for the said users. They are connecting using windows authentication.
