I can't start sql server services after step 4 in scott Duncans suggestion. Restore was successful. When i tried starting it says

However i found the answer for my problem. I think i have install 32 bit sql server combatibility components in app server...

I even can't find out if MDAC is installed or not. HOw i can find that? I will worry about version later once i know MDAC is installed.

NAtive client is application's requirement.but don't know why they need that. HOw can we say MDAC is installed ?

FYI, application will even uses analysis services. May be for analysis services. It need sql server backward compability apart from native client. I even have question should i install...

Thanks PS. The reaon i asked it Sp3 was release on dec 08 and cumulative update 13 is released on april 13 09 and there is no mention about cumulative...

I can't install sql EXPRESS and error says about MSXML. There were several suggestion to UNINSTALL MSXML 6.0 sp2 then install express gain.

Will Uninstalling MSXML effect other microsoft...
