I got the below answers in my SQL 2014 instance.. Could you please explain why this answer was incorrect...

Yeah, database mail works fine too.
We ended up bouncing the services and now we're able to send mail again through SSRS.
Do you suppose it caches the Exchange server...

Since the question didn't ask what version of SQL Server, none of the answers are correct. In SQL 2005, you get an error message, yet you still get one row...
