the database is in readonly mode .failed with the same error what i mentioned in the above

i found to install the Sp from microsoft site to resolve the issue apart of thsi is any reason for the failure of this job ?

The job failed. The Job was invoked by Schedule 20 (SharedServices1_DB_JobSchedule_DeleteExpiredSessions). The last step to run was step 1 (SharedServices1_DB_JobStep_DeleteExpiredSessions).

before shrinking can we take backup of the file ?

yes one of the step as update statistics failed due to
[SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 22029)

when i checked in the history i didnt fnd any reason step 2 failed as update statistics
can any one explain how to resolve this ?

this is theh query when i executed in sql 2000 SELECT name, physical_name AS physical_location
FROM sys.master_files
showing sys.master_files are not exist
any one sort it out .

appreciated for replies but when i executed the mentioned query showing Invalid object name 'sys.database_files' or . in sql 2000 can u sort it out .
