looks like modify_date in sys.objects updates rebuild date&time. but no further details available in system view on what caused that modifiation.

Need more inputs to understand the issue better (Hardware, SQL Configurations, DB Size, OLTP load, ETL etc)
Is this value exceeds consistantly or only specific time?
Most probably this is side effect...

I do not remember exact fix for this issue. focus on driver updates, try with ADO and OLEDB with different properties. thanks.

seem my response is not updated here.
we fixed that issue by updating DB2 client driver, changing DB2 data source property b/w ADO and OLEDB
and by trying differnt DB2 property values...

Pls have a look at Glen Berry's dmv collection (available in below link).
both sys.dm_io_virtual_file_stats and sys.dm_db_index* dmv's helps to isolate db and object specific pains.

I have an update on this as this could help others.
Its a .net framework issue. new patches provided by Microsoft fixed this problem.
