Yes , I installed the DTS components , i was able to open the package but failing to change Protection level to "Reply server on ........." option

I am unable to change the protection level in DTS package which is migrated from SQL server 2000 and save it

no log trunation happeded , i repeated the steps what i have explained earlier , Log shipping worked successfully
