Steve - excellent article. I've managed to learn most of the things you talk about but struggle with tuning. Do you have any suggestions for learning the fundamentals of tuning?

Your very first observation is correct.
Answer to your question is no. (Advert_from (say 1-1-2006) is always less than advrt_to (say 2-2-2006).
