Description: I am a senior software engineer. I've been crafting solutions with code, at the embedded to the systems level, since 1983. Outside of work, I study the Sun-Earth connection and how it influences radio communications, especially shortwave radio propagation. I'm an amateur (ham) radio communicator, and a shortwave radio listener. I enjoy Morse code as a language. For most of my life, I have been involved in computer sciences, and telecommunications. Software engineering, hardware and networking, and systems engineering, have all been part of my job at one time or another. I also write about, and research, foreign affairs, diplomacy, military doctrine, politics, and current affairs. I am a US Army Veteran. I served during the first Cold War.
The more I learn, the more I realize just how little I know.

“For me, great algorithms are the poetry of computation. Just like verse, they can be terse, allusive, dense, and even mysterious. But once unlocked, they cast a brilliant new light on some aspect of computing. ” — Francis Sullivan
“An algorithm must be seen to be believed.” — Donald Knuth
