I don't think I am going to take my prod down to save 15-30 mins on recovery. If you do it right the rebuild master shouldn't take more than that...

Here's how I restored master database and then changed the location of all the system databases. I recycled SQL Server and it worked.

sqlservr.exe -c -m

Restore master database

sqlcmd -E -SSHVBWQASDB01

1> restore...
