You could run any .EXE as follows using xp_cmdshell :

xp_cmdshell'c:\winnt\system32\ping.EXE'

I have had problems doing the same from the EM, since the Drive and machine is different. So I have executed from QA, with REPLACE & MOVE option in RESTORE...

You could use "RESTORE DATABASE" command with "REPLACE" and "MOVE" options. Usage of which can be found in Books Online.

Please check if "select into/bulkcopy is set to true" in your database options.

In this case, You need to take a FULL ot INCREMENTAL DB Backup before starting the Transaction...

This feature has been discontinued from SQL 7.0 for the reasons Tim had explained above. This is one hell of a feature we missed from 7.0.
