HI,
Did you check the event logs in the servers ?
You may check SQL server error logs and eventviewer (Application,system) in the Machine and see what cause the failover.

You are right it will work regardless of the recovery mode.
But do u have idea that wat will the cause of the databases that not being displayed.

Hi,
There is no support for database mail in SQL express editions.Also there is no sql server agent available so there is no alerts ,jobs scheduling etc.

Post this in the Sql server 2005 for better responses.You posted this in sql server 7, 2000.
For the alerts u mentioned will have to create SP (stored procedures)

Hi Chandra,
It was not having any problem (temp was ok) till we uninstalled the previous edition.
From that incident onwards we cannot start 2008.

use this T-SQL for shrinking the database
DBCC SHRINKDATABASE THIS Shrinks the size of the data and log files
instead of Shrinkfile
And the Initial size will grow according to the...
