Did you check the event logs in the servers ?

You may check SQL server error logs and eventviewer (Application,system) in the Machine and see what cause the failover.

Hi,

There is no support for database mail in SQL express editions.Also there is no sql server agent available so there is no alerts ,jobs scheduling etc.

You can check whether...

Post this in the Sql server 2005 for better responses.You posted this in sql server 7, 2000.

For the alerts u mentioned will have to create SP (stored procedures)

It was not having any problem (temp was ok) till we uninstalled the previous edition.

From that incident onwards we cannot start 2008.

instead of Shrinkfile

I had to kill the process because it was causing my tempdb log to grow by...

The most possible way is tht YOu can try for backup to external sources.
