it worked fine using 2008. I connected to both and setup the mirror(2005 to 2008).

I am fully patched on 2008 so maybe thats your problem. Worked flawless. Monitor...

restore the logs AFTER the DB completed. Obviously you can't trucate them until its done.

MS consistantly says "AFTER" the db backup completed.
