if it's a SCSI drive it could be the termination is incorrect. however it sounds most likely the drive itself or it's USB interface is toast.

since you NOW have different drives for Data and Log files, move the Database files to where they should be now...you did not state that you have moved the MDB...

I would check what the sytax relates to..is it a SQL2005 syntax error or oracle specific? also check the user you're connecting as to the Oracle DB has the rights...
