It is better and recommended to have atleast one differential backup during the mid-day.Why?

in your senario, you don't need diff backups.
That's a wrong piece of advise.
But there are places which has only one full backup for a week. take diff....

Got this issue fixed eventually.
Added a Data Conversion component before loading the data into the OLEDB Destination.
My source columns were Non-Uni(DT_STR) while my OLEDB destination was expecting a output Uni(DT_WSTR)....
