i am suing the ftp task. i know this is weird but i actually just deleted that part of the code this morning .

thansk for the response. it actually comes over as ddmmyynameoffile.txt. i tried parsing out the date to get the name and use active x and dynamic task in the dts...

i know and while doing same research, one of the solutions suggested is to install sp4, which we have not done becasue we run a our SQl in  clustered environment...

founf a work around on microsoft sql server, knowledge base. i have implemented this and it works like a charm.
