this may not help but i when i get a message "does not exist" the soluton that i use is to fully qualify the stored procedure name.

thansk for the response. it actually comes over as ddmmyynameoffile.txt. i tried parsing out the date to get the name and use active x and dynamic task in the dts...

i know and while doing same research, one of the solutions suggested is to install sp4, which we have not done becasue we run a our SQl in clustered environment...

founf a work around on microsoft sql server, knowledge base. i have implemented this and it works like a charm.

its a datafile from a vendor and they are aware of the problem, but in the meantime, how do i insert while ignoring duplicates
