this is what I would do, it sounds like your transaction log is severely huge.....
Are you setting to emergency status because you cannot get into the database or the database...

Thing that pops in my mind is what is the database compatibility level set at? Is it at 90 (SQL 2005) or something lower?

I had something similar to this..you cannot enable the AWE memory if
1. You have under 4GB of memory on the server
2. You have a non-Enterprise edition of Windows Server...

1. Eliminate your transaction log using the BACKUP LOG WITH...
