I'm not saying anything's better. But login/user mappings and user/role membership are still very much part of Azure SQL database and I'm just surprised they're not supported in the GUI....

Gosh, well my passions don't run quite so high. I think it's poor that SSMS doesn't support these basic functions in Azure SQL database but that's as far as it...

Well, it's not worth arguing about. It was useful to have this information in GUI-fied form, and I can't see any rationale for not providing it.

To my kind respondents, thank you once again, but I think you're much too understanding towards Microsoft. Personally I'm not impressed.

OK thanks for confirming, but what's the rationale? It's infuriating.

Thanks for the reply. I've checked and both are registered in full. Let me change the emphasis a little bit.
On the VM that does the snapshot backups, how would you...

Thanks for your interest Anthony. In the end it was easier to get more space, which I've done. The successfully completed snapshot was 375GB, so much as expected and well...

It's an AWS vm and I'm pretty sure 500GB means 500GB. There's no compression in the database and I didn't try compressed snapshot. I can't initialise from backup as the...

The snapshot is explicitly placed on my 500GB disk. You can see it populating the folder on that drive. It's just that it stops when the drive is about 10%...

Trusted domains don't come into this - we don't have any 🙂
If the group had been moved I'd have found it. I can't completely rule out the renamed suggestion but...

Thanks but all the xp_logininfo queries told me was what I already knew:
exec xp_logininfo 'DOMAIN\user', 'all' - returned no rows (confirming that the user didn't have access via any other...

We never got load balancing stable with this architecture. We're actually still actually using the load balancer but with only one SSRS instance in it. We could switch to the...

Yes certain about the sector sizes being the same. As I said, these are disks on identically spec-ed AWS-hosted servers. It is indeed curious. I have not found any documentation...

Thanks again for the responses. I can't re-cluster the table as it's part of a third-party package and already has a surrogate (clustered) primary key. Also the index in question...
