I should add that the final result has to be the item, the location and the price
example if Loc1, Loc2, and Loc3 are part of Group1 and the item price...

normally it would work, but the t2 table is a table that contains locations and groups of locations and the master table is the item master which contains pricing for...

I can't touch the Master Table...
but a computed persistent column is virtual and calculated so it wouldn't affect the inserts or updates which might be a good idea......

Yes the transaction log backup that fails is the one that is taken during the VM backup.
We will find out a time range that the VM backup is...

VM Backup is very possible... I'll find out from our network admistrators...
As for maintenance jobs, we checked... they don't run at that time
(we do run a full backup...

The problem with using a stored Procedure is that I can't use the stored procedure in a insert into select statement for that field.
And... I can't insert all at once...
