Did you complete step 1- 3?

This procedure has been practiced lot of times, it shouldn't have problem.

Good luck!

1. Delete subscription.
2. Go to Ariticles, unchecked the aticle (table) you want to change.
3. Make changes in that table using SQL EM or QA.
4. Make changes to the sp_MSins_<tablename> and sp_MSupd_<tablename> in your subscriber...
