  • RE: Scope: The drastic caveat with Logon Triggers.

WOW, that sounds a bug of sql server 2k5 itself. I am glad we have SP2 + CU10. 🙂

  • RE: Scope: The drastic caveat with Logon Triggers.

    Hi Johan,

I'd suggest the following test in the test environment

    1. Have a lock monitoring script running as a job on the server, the monitoring script only monitors the locks on...

  • RE: Scope: The drastic caveat with Logon Triggers.

    Informative article.

But I am still trying to understand why the transaction isolation level plays a role here. Before a connection is established, there is no isolation level to that "would-be"...

  • RE: Scheduling replication...

I have not tested it, but I believe you can schedule the snapshot by scheduling the snapshot agent job (which has a category of "REPL-Snapshot") on the distributor server.

B group is very famous and your resume will look better with such experience. In the worst scenario, you can look for another company anyway, right?...

  • RE: Software/Database Development Hiring Practices

    DBAdmin (8/25/2008)

In my opinion, this is an almost inevitable drawback of large organizations. In small organizations anonymity is not an option and everybody understands the contributions of others. In large...

try DBCC useroptions in both environments and compare the results.

  • RE: Software/Database Development Hiring Practices

    Very nice post.

My own experience (as an interviewer) is I never trust the resume only, I always throw some open questions to the interviewees just to judge their knowledge...

  • RE: DBA as commodity in future

    Tomm Carr (8/20/2008)

... it is a full time job remaining at Expert level as SQL Server Developer.

The best that companies can end up with when they hire a DBA/Developer is...
