I think MCTS and MCITP were relatively quick and easy to get.
There is no excuse for anyone serious to not get them within the 3 years between major releases.

I agree with previous posters. The market seems to be going mostly Oracle and SQL Server. So many applications come with SQL Server or Oracle as the preferred backend database...
