I had the same issue with LIKE '%searchterm%'. It took 18 minutes to search one million text files.
I changed to the "CONTAINS" statement and it went down to 1.5 seconds...

At the moment, i have about 1 million records and the search takes under 5 seconds, using '%like%'.

The 'PRO' table is not FTI.
Is it worth making it FTI to swap the 'like' to a 'contains' ?

Update - I tried the dbcc shrinkfile again and it did not reduce the size, so i ran another translog backup. The translog backup from yesterday was 105 GB but...

Dumb question, but why do you need seperate full and log backups ?
In previous restores from full backups it has restored all files.

Ms Access, create new DB, database tools, sql server,
the error occurs on either new db or use existing db.
next, dsn name, sql server login, pw
