I appreciate your comments and advice but just to clarify, and I'm open to being educated on this, my DBs are in Simple recovery they get backed up (Full)...

I've come from the school of thought that shrinking a database is only putting it into a state where it has to grow again and hence should be avoided, so...

Just a quick note to say I downloaded some sample corrupt databases from http://sqlskills.com/pastConferences.asp
