Hello. We didnt end up using that software. We currently use EMC's Avamar for our SQL server backups. We might re-visit recover point in the furture for DR sites.

The /PASSIVE option is also useful when a new node is added.
I have used that option to apply Service Packs to NEW passive nodes with out affecting the Active node...

I believe the Service pack will not update the client tools on the passive boxes.

It might be worth checking to see if there are any firewalls enabled on either server.
What operating system are your SQL 2005 servers running on?
