Can you check the port Number:

1) Right-click the server instance in Enterprise Manager,...

in MSSQL 2000:

1) Right-click on the server instance in Enterprise Manger.

2) Select "Properties"

3) Go to tab "Server Setting", there's a field called "Default language for user"
