I passed the 70-431 using Transender and the training kit.   It is a hard but fair test.  Wish I could say the same for 70-443!  It helped that I started...

Brian is correct.  If you really know your stuff you will pass.   I think this test is much better than the SQL 7.0 exams I took a few years ago.

There is an upgrade path for MCDBA's.  Check the specs for the 447 exam. 

I passed the exam.  It took about 3 hours.  The test was hard but fair.  Transender was a great help and the 70-431 training kit was also very useful. 

My only advice...

The information in the book I bought says if you complete the 70-431, 70-443 and 70-444 exams you are certified as a database administrator.

Just received the book.  It looks pretty good.   I may also get the Transender Practice test.

The database I used did not have any conflicts.  However, it is a bit underpowered and 40 million rows is huge.  

I spoke too soon.  The entire process took 4 hours.

We really need to look at archiving.  At least it didn't

time out.

The query timeout was set to 600 seconds.  I set it to 0 and reran the defrag.  It has been running for about an hour and is 98% done.  Problem...
