not sure what you mean by a "driver error"... or what "didn't work" means... both dtsrun and dtexec work on my desktop... I don't have any migrated packages to test...

can you connect in the other direction? Can the server be pinged? Are you in a domain? both the old 2000 servers and this one? what authentication are you using?

have you tried reinstalling with "a valid copy of" as the message suggests? I'm not trying to be silly... seriously, perhaps your copy is corrupt. Try downloading a fresh copy. ...

you tried re-installing what software? Can you install the "tools" only on the client?

don't think so... I seem to remember that it forces you to uninstall the earlier one when you go to install the newer one.

If you are using SSIS you can do the convert on the select statement. that's pretty smart
