it actually depends on your environment
Currently in my environment, i have network admins that handle all of that.
But if you dont have network admins, then basic knowledge is a must

has ssrs,ssms,ssis, ssas,ssds everthing to practice at home

you can get the developers version for 40 bucks i think
and it gives you everthing enterprise has

yes it works for 32 bit but on 64 bit it gives you an error message saying it isnt supported

if the directories are still there go into the log directory and open a log
in the top of the log is will have the name of computer

one of the check boxes on dettach box is for drop connections
If you check that is should allow you to dettach

in microsofts infinite wisdom they decided that log shipping using
transaction logs for sql 2005 would not support sql 2000 database
(this is kind of there way of forcing everybody up...

you would change the location of master.ldf by changing the startup parameters, bringing down the instance
master.ldf files should be created in the new directory

It could be that your using up all your memory
and when you reboot it clears the memory
or tempdb space

but if you are a sql rookie i would leave them in the directory they were installed...
