We use the custom counter feature in Idera DM, too. It can really add to the functionality for those things that may be specific to your site.

As far as I can tell, the web edition supports the SQL Agent scheduler. If so, you can schedule the backup yourself using scripts rather than using the wizard.

Thanks Gail. We have tried to get the specific errors from our vendor. Maybe they will come through some time soon. I'm just glad I wasn't missing something too obvious.
