I think it doesn't work with the sql server developer edition. It works only with the enterprise edition.

Cause I'm having the same issue.

Simple as we do only full backups.

I fixed the proble. I had many headers on the .bak file. I needed WITH INIT.

I do only full backups nightly.

I have a 2k5 server but the mail is not notifying too.

I'd highly recommend staying away from SQLMail in SQL2000 ... it's a nightmare.

Using \\..... as the path works only when I run the DTS package manually.

If I set up a SQL job to call this DTS package. It fails.
