i agree. such as lazy and Band-Aid workaround instead of fixing the corrupt issue.

They should be...

certificates are for encryption to and from SQL servers. Assigning certificate to server does not force encryption. it's up to the client to ask for encryption.

We also worked with Microsoft for a while. We provided all the logs they asked for.  They were asking for netmon and proc mon traces as wells. Not very practical...
