You don`t need to reinstal, well, as close as dammnit. You need to remove your user databases, get all the data out, then use a util called Rebuildm.exe which rebuilds...

But they open ok thru anythng but a direct proxy connection to that server. So I don`t think it`s the internals of the packages that are a problem.

It could be the format of the columns in excel. Not sure how it does it but it might read the column datatype to be able to translate it....
