The only buffer error we ever had was SSIS trying to buffer in a location it didn't have access to.

We corrected this by setting the BufferTempStoragePath property on the data...

These are the only things we keep.

• .sln - paths to the projects (.dtproj)
• .dtproj - contains a listing of all the objects in your project
• .dtsx - ssis packages

The meta data isn't going to change, that's a designer thing.

What you're trying to do isn't going to work.

Once you create a data flow that's it, that's the only metadata...

My first thought is that somewhere in the data flow there's a type conversion to datetime.

There's no other reason I can think.
