Hi Roy,
My DB files(mdf.ldf)is located on local drive.Does LDF file size make any impact on DML& DDL operations????
Because ldf file size for each of the database is above 100GB.

Have you applied service pack on SQL Server 2008??
Apply service pack on fresh installation & then try saving maintenance plan.

I have not applied Service pack3 or 4 yet because i m waiting for management approval for the same.
I have not enabled AWE.
