Try to add the Access DB as linked Server and compare the table schema.

My recommendations are:
1-Check the windows policy (create a Service account with the minimum prev.)
2-Check the Windows NIC card, they need to be in Order. Uninstall IPV6.

Talk with the developers, Check the Store Procedures,Views, Function and DTS/SSIS if any,
Over the object (Table,View,Etc) Right click-View Dependencies-Objects on Which [xxxx] depends.

I use FreeNAS too. with ISCII, FC (Fiber Channel Cables) Method is expensive CZ you need special hardware

Try to use a third party software like FreeNAS, Openfiler ,Starwind, ETC
1- Create 5 HD (1-Quorum 1-Dtc 1- SQL Temp Db 1- Log File 1-MDF)
