The compounding of the incentives sounds really great but most companies will have an upper limit to a salary so you might have a difficult time achieving the 'full 50%...

I have to agree about jaw dropping over 16 gigs in a laptop..
Most laptops have a max of 8 GB.
That must have been quite a laptop to start with!

Don't many companies, including MS, license by user requests even if they go through one unique user?
EG: you many have 1000 users accessing SQL Server through one account.
