I have a similar problem here. However, When I ran that "xp_sqlagent_proxy_account" , I got the error message like this:

"Error executing extended stored procedure: Specified user can not login"

Can...

It worked. However, my problem is that the remote server doesn't have SQL installed. Is there anything else I can try?

You are right!! I misseed a parameter @dbuse, which tells SQL the database that query is going to run again. Now I have another issue: the result is a mess....
