But MS recommends applying service pack. It supposed to be SP5 then. I rememeber (maybe wrong) there is no service pack after SP4.

Check the job script whether contains source server name, you may have to replace it with the target server name.

There is a fix for Dashboard setup script. Otherwise, you will get an error message after 24 days. Check here:

Any blocking process? use sp_who2 to check.
Try to back up a very small database and see whether backup itself works or not.

What kind of database? OLTP or datawarehouse? How is it being used and going to be used? Any replication?

I agree with Brandie. You should have dev/qa/production the same version.
If you run production on SQL 2000, make the database work and verified on a SQL 2000 environment first before promoting...
