Unfortunately changing this and doing a reboot of the system did not work. Any other suggestions?

I am having the same problem can anybody shed some light on the solution.

We had rebooted the server several several times with no luck. It is not even replacing the exe for SQL Server.

No we only have one instance on the machine the default.
