By deleting the Replication process, I was able to shrink the log file down to size.

Are you using INIT and creating a new file every day? A BAK file can be set to store multiple backups, which is a bad idea....

Is this just for SQL Server 2005 or can it be done on SQL Server 2000?

I fixed this problem with the following DOS commands:

cd \program files\microsoft SQL Server\80\tools\binn

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn>RSConfig.exe -c -s SQLReport

-d ReportServer -a windows -u "Domain\UserName" -p "PassWordHere"

I to think it's a good practice to restore a database, Do you restore nightly, weekly or monthy?

Since the optimization took 5-6 hours to run I increased the "QueryTimeout" to 6 hours. It looks like everything was able to be completed. Doing a count compare...
