  • RE: Modeling question, I'm confused.

Is the tax variance by register based on a single rate for the geographical location of that register?

In other words, the sales tax for State 1 is .0825; for State...

  • RE: select case Insert, Update

if I run the procedure the code above doesn't seem to execute but i take out +@FIELD28+ it runs fine.

Just a guess, but if @FIELD28 IS NULL, concatenating it will...

  • RE: Query Cost ~ USD $$$

A lot of managers live and die by the motto: If you can't measure it, you can't manage it. I can see some value in this, but it can also...

As to TIS, if this requirement is being dropped doesn't the J - for Journeyman need to be dropped as well (in my mind this implies having completed some sort...

  • RE: The Missing Certification

The world of data processing, be it in databases or the world of GUI's, is the last frontier where a motivated self-studying individual can actually "hack their way to the...

I think the feature has been around since at least 2000; if I'm remembering correctly, it defaulted to Automatic in 2005, but I can't swear to it.

    One caveat with Automatic...

  • RE: Identity Reseed is not working at Subscriber

Sounds like you're not managing Identities Ranges in your Article Properties.

If the subscriber need to be updateable you need to set up separate identity ranges for the publisher and subscriber....

  • RE: SQL Job Appears to just stop

I've had what may be a similar issue. Same basic setup: a SQL Agent job that calls a SSIS package, but my job only runs once a day.

    The job kicks...

  • RE: Commas in Code

I usually put commas at the end of the line in production code (I also tend to do one column per line in my SELECT clauses, for readability).

    But while developing...

  • RE: Tables and Stored Procedures

I'm wondering why the table itself needs to be temporary. Couldn't the table stay permanent and you simply delete stale rows occasionally using an Agent job?

    If you are indeed storing...
